AARUSHI PUNIA

Dr Aarushi Punia is a public intellectual, literary critic, and anti-caste political thinker. Dr Punia was awarded a PhD in 2024 from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi for her thesis titled “Pathopoiesis: The Narration of Suffering and Existence in Dalit and Palestinian Literature.” She has published her research on caste in the journals Critical Philosophy of Race (2023), Ariel (2024), and Journal of Narrative Theory (2025). She has contributed to an edited collection, Literary Representations of the Palestine/Israel Conflict After the Second Intifada (2022), published by Edinburgh University Press. Punia has written multiple articles on descent-based discrimination in international newspapers and media such as Mondoweiss, Middle East Eye, The Indian Express, and Maktoob Media. She was awarded the Dr. D.C. Pavate Visiting Fellowship at the Department of English, Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge in 2024.
